…I keep longingly and wistfully looking at:
1) The stack of books (comprising of a few marriage books and several creative writing books) I checked out from the library a few weeks ago. They’ve been sitting on my night stand, calling me…BECKONING ME!
Something happens to my sense of reason when I’m standing in a library aisle, surrounded by hundreds and hundreds of delicious looking books. I want to powder-ize the pages and snort them like… *ahem* I mean…uh…never-mind. Point is, I always end up leaving the library with an armload of books! I have very loyal intentions to read EVERY page before I have to return them….but let’s face it, being a mother leaves you very little time for recreational reading. In fact, I’ve only started on two of those books and have read maybe two or three chapters in each. I’m LOVING them, but I can’t seem to find the time to pick them up more often.
2) All my winter clothes: sweaters, skinny jeans, boots, scarves, mittens…I’m dying to wear them all! The only problem is that when I walk outside in this Florida-October weather, in a TANK TOP AND SHORTS, I melt like ice cream on a sizzling sidewalk in July. I’m not so sure I was cut out to be a Florida girl. I love the beaches, but there’s only so much heat in the year I can take. It’s unreasonable to be expected to carve pumpkins in 90 degree weather! I’m just saying. Bring on the cold!*
*Feel free to throw this in my face if in March, I’m complaining of my pasty white skin and burning desire for the summertime weather to return.
